Armagh Observatorys historic 15-inch reflecting telescope has been re-installed following reconstruction work in England.

The telescope was manufactured by Dublin based firm Thomas Grubb in 1834 and is thought to be the first commercial telescope made by the firm.

The telescope will be used to observe the transit of Venus during the morning of June 8.
