Armagh Planetarium which closed for an undisclosed period of time this week
The Planetarium will be closing for a short term due to health and safety concerns, but will reopen after refurbishment, a spokesman said yesterday.

The decision to close the tourist attraction was a joint one, taken by officials from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure.

The choice now is whether to press ahead with remedial work which would see the facility open in the short term or too go ahead with major refurbishment which would result in long term closure.

The Planetarium is the only facility of its kind in Northern Ireland and is one of Armaghs largest tourist attractions.
