Last Saturday saw the now tradidional end of season MINI BLITZ @ ARMAGH rugby. Teams represented were
-
Virginia
-
Armagh
-
Monaghan
-
Wanderers
-
Navan
-
Coolmine
-
Dundalk
The teams played from 11-00AM until 6-00PM, leaving players, coaches, referees, spectators, Dads & Mums, exhausted at the end.
Competitions were held in all age groups from Under 6 through to Under 12, Across the seven age groups , which included an under 6 Tag category for the first time.
There were 38 participating teams who played a total of 92 matches during the day with 580 players in all taking part making this the biggest Mini-rugby tournament on the island!
All Armagh teams aquitted themselves brilliantly against some very strong, and in most cases, large , opposition.
Pride of place must go to th P7 team who won the main event beating a very strong Wanderers side to take the title & also to our Under 6 Tag team who managed to beat Coolmine in their final.
Special mention also must go to the P4, P6, & Year 1 teams who won their respective plate competitions.
The unluckiest team of the day & in the whole tournament has to be the Armagh P5 Side who got to the main final in their category having played some brilliant rugby through the group stages only to be defeated narrowly by a very dominant Navan outfit!
Our winners were:
-
U 6 Tag Armagh
-
U 7 Shield Navan
